Petro Peat

Nature's Solution to Oil-Based Spills

Petro Peat is a product of nature which safely absorbs oil, gasoline, grease and other petrochemicals.

  • It's economical, absorbing approximately one gallon of oil per pound of peat and reducing cleanup waste volume up to 80% compared to clay products.
  • It will not leach oil back into the environment and actually aids in biodegrading absorbed petrochemicals into harmless by-products.
  • It's hydrophobic, making it safe and effective for use on water as well as land.
  • Petro Peat's low abrasion factor makes it safe for use around moving machinery parts.
  • Unlike clay products, it contains no silica (a known carcinogen).
  • Its superior wicking action quickly suppresses combustible vapors up to 90%, reducing the risk of explosion.
  • When incinerated, used Petro Peat can produce over 17,000 BTUs (tested with light crude oil) and leaves only 2% ash residue.
  • With Petro Peat, you'll use less, absorb more, dispose of less, save on labor and reduce the overall cost of cleanup - all while being kind to the environment
  • In this age of environmental consciousness and responsibility, PetroPeat is simply THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
Here's how Petro Peat saves on disposal costs:

3 1/2 bags (56 Lbs.) of Petro Peat are required to clean up spill.   19 1/4 bags (770 lbs.) of clay are required to clean up spill.
3 1/2 bags of Petro Peat at $20 each
$70

19 1/4 bags of clay at $3 each
$57.75

3 1/2 bags of used Petro Peat fill only 1 1/5 55 gallon drum.
1 1/5 drum of used Petro Peat at $140 per drum incineration cost-

19 1/4 bags of used clay fill five 55-gallon drums.
5 drums of used clay at $500 per drum incineration cost --
Total Incineration Cost
$166

Total Incineration Cost
$1,500.00

Cleanup Using Petro Peat
$236

Cleanup Using Clay
$1,557.75

Why spend more than ten times the price with heavy clay?
Petro Peat is lightweight and saves you money!
